President's Message

The end of February has been spring weather, perfect for driving.

1960’s and parked it in 1976. It looks in pretty good shape and complete, he started it every few months until health issues curtailed the practice about three years ago. He also was preparing for paint and has the car’s interior dismantled. Besides the price, we used to live down the street from Ralph and had seen the car before. Our old cat liked to sneak in his garage and camp out in the car. Couldn’t resist buying it. The Costanzo’s (see photos) generously drug the MGA to its new resting place, a green metal barn. Fresh parts will be arriving soon to start the process of getting it purring once again.

Sadly, our dependable TR6 is taken apart and waiting to have a few of its valve caps switched. Should have it repaired in a week or so. The Austin Healey frame, wearing a fresh coat of primer, still hangs on the rotisserie. My point to this report on the Underwood’s stable of LBCs, get your car maintenance done in December so you don’t miss out on the beautiful weather that typically starts showing up in February.

Speak of nice drives, our Minister of Carz n Coffee has coffee met on March 8th, Mike will share details when available. Also, March 29th is this year’s April Fool’s Rally, Mike Rapoza is sponsoring this great event.

The multi-Club Rally is well into the planning stage. Dennis Bentley, President of the Sacramento Jaguar Club; Tim Waller, President of the Sacramento Morgan Club; Dave Lawson, President of the MG Club; and yours truly have been working hard creating a rally that ends at a park in Forest Hill and has two starting points. One starting point will be south of Hwy 50 and the other starting point near Highway 80. The Rally will be on June 7th. More details to come. It should be great weather, fingers crossed.

Hope you are ready for a fun year of lots of events. Look for emails and attend meetings.

Stay healthy, take care,

Dave.
